These pants are almost perfect. Their only flaw is that they are a light black which makes them appear grey when I wear them with other black items.

It is hard to tell in this photo, but this suit is olive green which I think is a fun contrast to the pale green of this blouse. Or at least the Hello Kitty band-aid on my hand.

The best part about today's outfit, besides the fact that I scored this theory suit for $12 at Goodwill, is the fact that my t-shirt is clean! After a month, I finally have a working washing machine and dryer. I also have 546894 loads of laundry left to do but I am trying to keep the tone of this blog positive.

With any luck, my laundry woes will be resolved this afternoon. Which is a huge relief because I had pretty much worn through all my comfortable underwear and an now stuck wearing the uncomfortable stuff from the back of the drawer. I've also run out of jeans that I don't need a crowbar to get into. Which, I suppose, is not the fault of my appliances and more a function of poor shopping habits and the ingestion of too much wine and bread this weekend. But, I'm a lawyer and I'll figure out a way to hold something else accountable. JD 1, Personal Accountability 0.

I am pretty sure 20 years from now I will look back on this shirt and wonder what the hell I was thinking. Until then I'm going to embrace my wings and hope no one makes fun of me to my face.

A few days before Christmas my clothes dryer broke down. On Christmas my freezer broke, followed shortly by my refrigerator and washer. On the eve of my trial two weeks ago, our copier at work broke down. Yesterday our new washing machine was delivered, and promptly broke down and flooded the basement. The new dryer could not be installed because of venting issues. The Ravens lost the playoff game yesterday because their kicker was rushed.
Which is a long, convoluted way of saying I am a walking disaster and you might want to stay away (or at least not let me near your appliances or kickers).
At least my dress is cute.

In honor of my tweed suit, I am drinking tea and eating ginger biscuits. The Queen would be proud.

Monday night I took an impromptu shopping trip to TJ Maxx where, out of the corner of my eye, I spied this jacket. It's Marc by Marc Jacobs and retailed for $450 and was on clearance for $60. I think the reason it was neglected was it was marked a size XS but fits like a S/M. Although I really don't need another jacket - I was unable to resist the lure of the bargain.
Which I am pretty sure will be written on my tombstone.

I am in a grumpy mood. I didn't go for a run this morning because there was snow on the ground. All of my cases at work are blowing up. I took a sleeping pill too early last night and woke up at 2am. And I'm wearing an outfit that makes me feel lumpy and uncoordinated. Is it too early to go home?

It is probably a good thing I do not have children so that I do not have to explain why I spent time posting photos like this on the internet.

Clearly I forgot I am a 40something lawyer and decided to dress more like a college student or young blogger this morning. Ooopsies.

Since I did not have time to run this morning, I decided to take the long route to court later today, which necessitated walkable shoes. Walkable shoes, required shorter pants and once I chose these, I was locked me into this blazer. Then I needed a non-patterned shirt and I found this silk t-shirt in the back of my closet. All good parts but together they don't seem to work.

Although my maternal grandfather died many years before I was born, I suspect he would have owned a sweater much like this.

I have spent the last 2 days on trial so I've been wearing conservative suits and shoes. So today I decided to go a little crazy and wear this crazy color combo. I'm not sure if it works or not, but after having only slept 12 hours this week - I'm not sure I care :)

Of all my holiday splurges this year, these boots may be my favorites. I have wanted a pair of grown up dress boots and when I saw these on sale I jumped at them.
