Confession

Work has been BANANAS lately and I have had not time to post (and frankly who wants to see me in the same black pantsuit every day).

Today I took a short break from the madness and went on a quick internet shoe spree. This is in addition to the blue boots I was seduced into buying by one of internet friends. Technically this does not break my ban since I had allotted myself some shopping in August for my birthday.

First up these lovely boots by Taryn Rose. I took a risk with these since the only other Taryn Rose shoes I own are super painful. But for $100 I decided to risk it. I hope my calves shrink enough for me to enjoy these as early in the fall as possible.

OMG I am so predictible!

Remember those cute Viviene Westwood boots I fell in love with yesterday?

Apparently I already owned a very similar looking pair of flats.

Wait there is more. Last week I took this photo of this GORGEOUS necklace a friend made for me.

The photo was a little blurry so this morning I took this one.

Notice anything? I have a shirt and cardigan in the same exact pattern.

Neither of these photos shows off the necklace to its full beauty. More on that later.

Cutest Rain Boots Ever?

I was just browsing (really) Zappos for some ankle boots to replace ones I wore out years ago and I found these. Are they not the cutest boots ever?

On Stuff

In a odd bit of synchronicity this weekend, this article was published at the same time I unearthed a rather embarrassing number of Space Bags full of clothing that I had hid from myself.

On the one hand this discovery was awesome because I now have a lot more things to wear if/when I get smaller. On the other hand this discovery makes me question just how much progress I have really made in my quest to reduce my stuff.

In an effort to learn something from my angst I am doing something I have never done before ..... I am documenting my wardrobe. Progress has been slow (I clearly have no future as an historian or archivist) but I have learned a few things such as:

  • If our future economy is based on black button down shirts and black sweaters - I will be RICH!
  • I have worn a LOT of sizes in the last five years.
  • I probably need to face the fact that I can no longer wear mini-skirts.
More to follow!

Do they have a 12 step program for buyers of green bags? Because I need one. Exhibit A: My latest acquisition - Rebecca Minkoff MAM in olive.
