Out with old and new

Big morning. I began photographing bags and selected a bunch of bags to resell. It is hard letting go but I know I cannot use everything I have. I am still no where close to my goal of 32 but it's a start.

Anyone interested in some bag bargains - come see my listings!

Should I stay or should I go?

During the course of my fasting I will need to make some tough decisions about what to keep and what to rehome (sell). This gorgeous bag is from Hayden Harnett one of my favorite purse designers. I love the pattern and style but I question the long term viabilty of this bag. What do you think?

Things Keeping Me Up

Welcome

I am a bad sleeper. Always have been. I wake up a 2am obsessing about work or lawnmowers or JabberJaw or tricycles or stuff. Last night StuffFast 2010 was born.

Here are the rules (so far):

1. No new stuff

I am barring myself from purchasing any new clothes, handbags, jewelry, make-up, books, and art supplies for one year. Because I am a realist (and an inveterate shopper) I'm scheduling some breaks from the ban, although maybe I won't need them.

2. 32 flavors
I buy a lot of shoes and handbags. We're talking hundreds. My goal is to whittle my collections down to 32 pairs of shoes and 32 bags. Watch this space for my selection process.

3. Wear it!
I have a lot of clothing. Again we're talking crazy hoarder type shit. With no new clothing coming in (see rule 1) I will need to wear what I have. Every item I wear will be "analyzed" and if it doesn't fit or look good or feel good - it goes to charity or gets altered or tossed. Because I am have a tendency to procrastinate - I will purge weekly.

Although I am a Luddite at heart I'm posting my journey on line because 1. it may inspire others and 2. I need something to do if I'm not shopping.
